The Creation of art

One of my greatest discoveries has been a passion for the arts. Everywhere I am there is always the beauty in the structure and the details of everyday things, to me this is the greatest art. When at a restaurant I take note of the subtle details present in the architecture, the aesthetic choice of the decorations, however small, that most people take for granted. Those experiences feed the soul. I appreciate it more than any meal.

One of my favorite hobbies is going to museums.  I have been to my local museums more times than I can remember. I love everything from ancient sculpture to the flamboyant modernism. Everything speaks to me in a different way. I don’t let my quest for art and form stop at museums. It extends to each and everything I come into contact with. For instance, the botanical gardens and nature reserves speak to me in the same way. It’s just a different type of form, the beauty in it being touches me with a unique feeling that is beyond words.

Everything either man made or of nature is creation. It’s that creativity that expresses the individuality of that object. Sculptures, buildings and plants all express both the mark of their creator and their own life. A life that it takes after it is released from the hands of its maker. The process takes them from form to individual being. For instance a tree, it is born of nature but each tree is different, shaped by both its own disposition and the elements around it. Each one is beautiful, not only because of its individuality but because of its environment in which it exists. As another example, take an ancient stone pot. While still the same pot that it was so long ago now has taken on a life on its own. The sculptor created it for a very specific purpose. Although it was made by his hands it carries only a shadow of him within. Because soon as it left his hands it began to take on a life of its own. Through use or disuse, value or disregard, care or neglect, the pot begins to weather then slowly chip and fade. Over time this pot becomes completely unique from any other that has ever been. Each object gets its individuality from simply being, by following its own path it find its individuality. The acknowledgment of detail is how I express myself. It’s a type of union with these objects through appreciation and understanding of what they are and where they are.

It is in this spirit that I would like to share my personal portfilio. Each time someone shares something close to their heart the closer we all become. I hope that my act inspires others to do the same.
